Dorothy Fickling Schmidt, 96, died September 27, 2009, in Houston, Texas.

Ms. Schmidt was born September 29, 1912, in Mason County, the daughter of Steve and Alma Fickling of Pontotoc. She taught school in Mason for approximately seventeen years, and after retiring, worked several years as the Mason County Librarian.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Roberta Schmidt of Drexel Hill, Pa., her daughter, Christy Schmidt Wright of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Marissa Schmidt of Portland, Oregon, Jonathan Schmidt of Drexel Hill, Pa., Courtney Wright of Houston, Texas, Roger Robinson Wright III of Los Angeles, CA, and two great grandchildren.
