The importance of making a will and safeguarding one’s final wishes will be presented at an annual wills clinic Thursday, Nov. 12, offered by the Hill Country Memorial Hospital Foundation. There will be two identical sessions, one at 9:30 a.m. and another at 1:30 p.m.

Anyone interested in updating, creating or learning about wills is encouraged to attend.

The HCMH Foundation offers this public service clinic to the community free of charge, and each session will be about two-and-a-half hours long at the Central Texas Electric Co-op community room, 386 Friendship Lane in Fredericksburg.

Sandy Goff is the executive director of the hospital foundation. “One of the issues many people deal with in our area is willing their appreciated land to descendants,” she said. “Creating your will is not something to delay, and the clinic shows people the importance of getting started sooner rather than later.”

Volunteer presenters will be Fredericksburg attorneys Robert W. Goff, Jr., Richard Hoerster and Jay Weinheimer. Hoerster will provide an overview of wills, Goff will present current developments in estate and tax planning and Weinheimer will discuss Medicare, Medicade and Power of Attorney.
