Members of the Fine Arts Association of the Hill Country will meet at 10 a.m. this Friday, November 20. This month’s program includes a tour of two new homes in southern Mason County. The homes are owned by long time friends and FAAHC members, Kacey Butcher and Carol Conlee. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Butcher have been building a one of a kind off-the-grid home and that classification in itself should kick your interest into high gear right away. I will add another tidbit: When you enter their living area, you will feel like you have walked into the cockpit of an airplane! The view is breathtaking.Mr. and Mrs. Craig Conlee are more then a “stone’s throw away” but still “close at hand” considering it is in the country. The Conlee’s have been very busy either doing restoration work or building brand new. They, too, are investing an immeasurable amount of labor to achieve their final goals. Their view would have to be described as awesome. Everyone will agree the Hill Country has been blessed with great beauty. Friday’s tour will share that beauty as well as the treat of seeing this area’s new “homesteads”!Carol Conlee is including a tour of her art collection and her studio. She has graciously agreed to give members a demo of art therapy which includes utilizing music and painting blindfolded. A light lunch will be provided.
