Tannenbaum, Mason's most anticipated event associated with Thanksgiving and Christmas, is ready for the season. This production will again be held at the Mason County Park in the Community Building. November 28, booths will be open at 9 and will close at 4. The inside booths have been sold out to a number of first time participants, and to others returning with their ever popular wares. To accommodate additional crafters, an outside overflow area is anticipated. A few of the offerings will be artwork, books, lights, furniture or Christmas items to beautify the home. For the individual there will be various selections for wear, enticements for the skin or herbs for relaxing. Packaged foods to enrich the table and perhaps a Mason Texas tea towel or a handmade knife. Leather, wood, metals, jewels, paint, glass, and such mediums have been fashioned into useful articles.

Santa will be ready to sit with the children to have pictures made. Everyone should take this opportunity with the beautiful Santa available from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. His hair and beard are his natural growth and no artificial application or masks are worn. Bring your camera and kids in their favorite outfit and take some great phots home.

Troop 5240, Cadet and Senior Girl Scouts are providing the food for hungry shoppers. This hard working group provides community service while collecting hours toward their Silver and Gold awards. At this time the girls are collecting funds for their high adventure trips. Last year they traveled to the Appalachian Trail and this year they are anticipating a trip to the Ozark Mountains. For this concession, the Scouts are planning breakfast, drinks, and quick foods.

Rather than having a silent auction, the Mason County Museum is soliciting donations for their fund drive. These funds help operate the Museum for the next year and will be used for monthly bills, promotional items, supplies and display features. Help keep your County Museum open by giving a donation when you pass by its booth. Tannenbaum is sponsored by the Mason County Museum.
