The 8th Boys finished out their basketball season last Monday evening as they took on the visiting boys from Miles. Although they came up short in this game against Miles, the Punchers wrapped up the championship with a 10-4 overall record, and a 8-2 district record.
These young men continued to get better everyday. They enjoy the game and work hard at getting better. The Punchers fell short in their first game against Christoval, but came back four weeks later and defeated the Cougars by fourteen points. The Punchers played well in the Llano tournament and lost to the home team only by one point and then finished out the tournament by defeating Comfort by four.
In the Miles game, the Punchers found themselves playing a lot of catch-up in period one with four points to Miles’ eleven, then Mason outscored the visitors 6-3 before the half. Miles regained their momentum in period three scoring seven to Mason’s two, then the Punchers rallied at the end of the game outscoring Miles 8-4, but the total added up in favor of Miles 20-24.
