With the upcoming 4th of July holiday, many folks will be out celebrating with family and friends. The Mason Fire Department hope you have a happy and safe time. Please observe all safety precautions including the following:
• Fire works are a lot of fun, but with the extremely dry conditions, they can be very dangerous and those that use them are liable for any damages that they cause. Water source should be available. Fireworks within the City are prohibited. Just because you are at the river on a gravel bar doesn't guarantee that a fire cannot happen.
• BBQ pits and grills should only be used if a water source is readily available. Coals and ashes should be properly disposed of after being watered down.
•Trash should be hauled off to the landfill (Not The Roadside Parks) and not burned.
• The main thing is if you don't have enough water to put out a fire, then don't start one!
• Report all fires as soon as they start, get a fire department enroute. Give the 911 address or location where the fire is.
To report a fire---911 or 325-347-5252.
