For the last six years, Mason ISD has been a recipient of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers federal grant. For the first five years, the program served the elementary and junior high schools.

Last year, we began including the high school level – but with a twist! With so many of our high school students involved in afterschool activities, we decided to have a BEFORE school program for them.

Last year, we offered expanded homework assistance and math tutorials from 7:30 to 8:30, Monday through Thursday. This year, we are branching out even more. In addition to the homework assistance and expanded tutorials, we will have other offerings, such as SAT/ACT preparation, speed reading and college and career readiness workshops.

We are also looking into providing even more early morning classes such as driver’s education and personal finance/money management at a later date. Classes will begin August 30th. If you have questions, please contact Julia Gonzales or Jane Vargas at 347-1122, ext 240.
