Yes, George and I admit to "cramming for the final exam" that was on August 21st to close Lenore Newsom’s dog obedience class as printed in last week’s paper. Also, I will vouch for the fact that George is/was far smarter then his owner/trainer.

From the time I grew up on Mason’s Rainey Street and where, reportedly, I always had a dog following me down the road, I have always loved dogs.

Having a dog or multiple dogs, owners should always want them to be well behaved. This was my first obedience class and I chose to use the smallest of our four dogs for obvious reasons…I didn’t have a clue what I was getting myself into and he weighed the least.

So, if you have a dog and he/she is a stray or "papered", I would urge you to consider schooling both yourself and your four-legged family member. It is a win-win situation for both you and your "best friend"!
