Edward Laycock, of Mason passed away on Sunday, January 22 at the age of 71. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, of Mason, two sons Jeffrey Laycock and Jeremy Laycock, both of Sarasota, FL, a daughter, Kimberly Kivney and husband John of Punta Gorda, FL, five grandchildren, Audrey, Zachary, Jacob, Michaela, and Jordan, one great grandchild, Jacob, and another one on the way. Edward was born in Delta, Colorado, on December 5, 1940. He married Nancy Marquis in Penn Valley, California. After 20 years of service, he retired from the United States Coast Guard. Ed loved to travel, so they RV’d for several years and lived in several different places. Ed and Nancy moved to Mason seven years ago. He loved the people in Mason and enjoyed fishing and playing golf. Ed was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mason and a member of the Comanche Creek Golf Association. Mr. Laycock’s cremated remains will be interred at a National Cemetery in Colorado at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family on-line at masonfuneralhome.net. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mason Funeral Home.
