Last fall of 2011, I wrote a story on my website/blog about Round Top, Texas. I wrote….“Round Top is going through another change and growth. Texas, our country and the world is going through some big changes. Life changes are difficult and history shows that with our neighbors and friends to offer support and encouragement, we can stay focused on being positive and optimistic. It also helps if we can invite these people together once a month to eat one of Round Top’s - Bud Royer’s Pies. Eating these pies will get us through these tough times.”A month after writing this, I found out that I won the BLOGGING CONTEST and the prize was… 3 months of pies. Each month a Royer Pie would be sent to me. Wednesday, February 1st, I would like to share this month’s pie…..a PECAN PIE with all my friends in Mason. You are probably thinking… how is she going to share one pie with everyone? The answer is that I will be having the PIE PARTY at one of Mason’s newest establishments…. GOOD TO GO. Along with the Royers Pecan Pie, GOOD TO GO will be offering samples of their desserts and coffees. Mark your Calendar…. WEDNESDAY, GOOD TO GO, 5:30, after work before you go home, swing by.Wednesday is the day before, Groundhog Day. Groundhog Day, according to the Germans, the Groundhog peeps out of his winter quarters and if he sees his shadow he pops back for another six weeks nap, but if the day be cloudy he remains out, as the weather is to be moderate. I have traveled to this fun and exciting event, but for most people they remember the movie. A weather man is reluctant to cover a story about an animal that will prognosticate the weather. He makes no effort to hide his frustration on this assignment. On awaking the ‘following’ day he discovers that it’s Groundhog Day again, and again, and again. Wednesday, February 1st, (is not groundhog day, it is the day before Groundhog Day), but you will find that you will return to GOOD TO GO, for their casseroles, coffee, desserts, again and again and again.See you on the 1st of February!
