Back in the day long before ESPN’s plethora of football coverage ABC would telecast the college game of the week. Thats right, one game a week, I cringe at the thought. Legendary broadcaster, Keith Jackson, who had a distinct southern drawl would always begin each telecast with “OHHH! NELLY! DO WE HAVE A GAME FOR YOU.” I can not think of a better way to describe the titan like match up that is about to take place as #11 Mason prepares to tangle with #19 Iraan in the season opener.

Listening in the City…
New Yorkers who deal with the city on a daily basis may grow numb to the sights and sounds abounding there for us who mosey in from time to time. We are big-eyed and big-eared, marveling at the energies of millions who seem so comfortable with the duties of each day.

Understanding “natural health” is sometimes confusing because our society likes things fixed with a single pill. A natural approach to health focuses on underlying causes. In other words, a naturopath would not recommend aspirin for a headache, but would try to determine if the headache resulted from mineral deficiencies, food sensitivities, blood sugar imbalances or stress and would make recommendations to restore balance to the person so that the headaches did not occur.

Tips for Nutritious School Lunches
For sandwich variety, try various types of breads, pita, bagels, tortillas, flat bread and crackers. Gradually move toward whole grain foods if they are new to your child. New varieties of whole grain bread are lighter in color and texture and may appeal to children.
To pack a nutritional punch in sandwich spreads (such as tuna fish, egg salad, and even reduced-fat cream cheese), add finely minced (food processor works great) carrots and celery.
