The Punchers face off with the Shiner Comanches in Leander, Texas, at 7:30 pm on Friday, November 22, 2013. The game is at the Bible Memorial Stadium 3301 S. Bagdad Road. Please dress appropriately warm for COLD AND WET WEATHER!

I would suppose it's a bit confusing to have a column on the opinion page, with the header saying it's an opinion, and the subhead also talking about opinions. Yet, I feel that it's important to remind readers that this is an editorial page of the newspaper. Elsewhere, there are news articles that contain varying amounts of opinion; but, that attempt to maintain a degree of impartiality in order to get their message across to the readers. The MHS class of ‘79 met at Peters Prairie on July 12th. We had 34 in attendance, with one traveling from New Jersey and one from California. A lot of laughs and wild stories were told. Looking forward to the next gathering and hope to see more classmates, especially the ones that live around here!

Sarah May Brown, of Mason, passed away at her home on Friday, July 18, at the age of 73. Sarah was born in Mason on November 19, 1940, to John David Atchley and Ivy May Martin Atchley. She was a life-long resident of Mason County. Sarah married Elroy Brown on May 12, 1956, and their marriage was blessed with two children.

Jack Aubrey White, 84, of Keene, Texas, and formerly of Brady, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, in Burleson, Texas. Visitation was held Saturday, July 19, 2014, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Brady with Funeral Services immediately following at 11 a.m. in Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with interment afterward at Live Oak Cemetery in Brady. Dionitia Rambo Lyckman passed to the Lord on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, in Menard, Texas. A celebration of her life was held at Grace Lutheran Church in Menard on Friday, July 18, at 2:00 p.m. with burial following at Rest Haven Cemetery. Dionitia was born Dionitia Marie Grundmann Rambo on September 25, 1929, to Charlotte (Volkmann) and Claude Dewey Rambo at the home of her grandparents, Menard ranching pioneers Dietrich F.
