The Punchers face off with the Shiner Comanches in Leander, Texas, at 7:30 pm on Friday, November 22, 2013. The game is at the Bible Memorial Stadium 3301 S. Bagdad Road. Friday, August 22nd, the Mason High School cheerleaders are requesting your attendance at a new event. They are hosting a pork loin dinner and auction. Dinner will be served from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Mason ISD cafeteria. Tickets are being pre-sold by the high school cheerleaders and can be purchased in the high school office or at the door.

For the second year in a row, Tim Walker walked away last Sunday with the honors as Comanche Creek club champion. Comanche Creek held its 25th annual Club Championship on August 2 and 3. Bud Menchaca had the stage set in grand golf fashion and what a championship it turned out to be.

The Mason Garden Club will have its regular meeting on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the Stribling Room of the Mason County M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library. This will be the club’s annual membership drive and installation of officers. If you have been wondering about garden club, now is the time to come and visit.

A few years ago I met a fellow named Dennis Dunn, whom I would describe as ‘a tall man.’ Dennis and I share a love for hunting, and for bowhunting in particular. Not only that, but we are both fond of hunting with bows that don’t have any sighting mechanisims attached.

The Summer Meltdown Challenge will be wrapping up this Friday, August 15th at 12 noon with a covered dish salad luncheon at River of Life Church for all who participated in the exercise programs. On Friday, August 15, at 6:30 pm, the Hilda Community Club will host their annual ice cream social. The guest speaker at the event will be Steve Toone speaking about the Patriot Warrior Foundation. Steve is an active member of the The Patriot Warrior Foundation which is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization which provides morale boosting events for America’s wounded and injured Veterans and their families.
