Attention all tennis fans!On Wednesday, February 8th @ 6:00pm, Mason Tennis Association (MTA) will have a special meeting to discuss plans to resurface and repair courts 1-4 and courts 9&10. The meeting will begin at 6pm at the High School Library. With tennis season upon us, we strongly encourage attendance.Mason tennis is as wonderful and highly anticipated as bluebonnets in springtime.

Join us on Saturday, March 24, in Mason, Texas to celebrate our state gem, and those that create them, from 1pm to 6pm, on the historic Mason Square. Meet the gem cutters and see Texas topaz exhibits at Gems of the Hill Country, on the north side of the Mason square.

The Hill Country Cattlewomen will hold their next regular meeting on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at the Inn of the Hills, 1001 Junction Highway, Kerrville, Texas. The meeting is being hosted by our Boerne/Comfort area members. We will begin with a social at 10:00 a.m. and the meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m., with lunch to follow.

The Heart of Texas Country Music Association will celebrate its 23th Anniversary on Friday and Saturday, March 23rd and 24th, and Friday and Saturday, March 30th and 31st in Brady. The festivities will include a Welcome Party and Dance on the Friday nights at the Heart of Texas Events Center, an afternoon Matinee Concert at 1:00 PM on the Saturdays followed by a Dance on Saturday night at the Brady Civic Center.

The 2012 Mason County Critter Getter Benefit Predator Calling Contest has been scheduled for February 25th and 26th. Sign up will be on Saturday, February 25th, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Final check in will be on Sunday, February 26th, 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Both sign up and final check in will be held behind Watson Auto Parts in Mason. Friends of the Library will hold a special meeting to look at our purpose and goals and make plans for 2012. Everyone is welcome to come and share their perspective, whether or not you are a member. The meeting will be at 5:15 PM on Monday, February 13th in the Stribling Room of the Mason County M.

On Saturday, January 28th, treasured Texan Jaston Williams will unite with the Odeon Preservation Association (OPA) and our community to help ensure the doors of the Odeon Theater in Mason, Texas remain open beyond the end of next year (2013). The famous writer and actor of TUNA CHRISTMAS and GREATER TUNA will devote his entire day on Saturday to help ‘SAVE THE ODEON’.

The 2011-2012 Football Banquet will be held at the Fort Mason Park Community building on the 26th of January, starting at 7:00 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m.Dinner will be served and tickets can be purchased for $10.00 from Victoria Duarte at Mason I.S.D. middle school, the Mason National Bank or The Commercial Bank.
