During their regularly scheduled meeting of July 19, the Mason I.S.D. board of trustees both received Piper Perlichek's resignation as director of the daycare, and approved a contract naming her as the new director. The unusual move was prompted by the hiring of Perlicheck as the new director of Steady Steps at the First United Methodist Church.
A teenage son is speaking about his mother….."Tonight, she left with her coworker around 5:30 and claimed they were going out for dinner. I went out bowling with some friends, ate burgers and then came home. I was back by 8:00. I called her around 10:00 to check up on her and remind her that she has to wake up early for work tomorrow since she’s filling in for her boss.
10-year-old Haley Reams' name was drawn from the tickets after Mr. William Richter of Flatonia donated the playhouse back to CASA when his name was drawn Saturday night at the rodeo. Bluebonnet CASA would like to thank everyone who purchased tickets and for their continued support. Haley is pictured with her mother, Nicole Cornish.

During the recent summertime visit by his great grandsons, Oliver Grote demonstrated that he can keep up with fashionable hair trends! He and the youngsters all shared Mohawk haircuts, thought they did choose different shades of color to accent their expressive "dos". Oliver's sister-in-law, Lorine Metz, shared this photo with the readers.

The 131 year old historic church house located on East Hwy 29 is getting a new church family. The Community Bible Church will hold its Inaugural Service July 18th at 11:00 AM. They are doing it right with a Texas sized dinner on the grounds afterwards. The Inaugural Service will include special music by Ernest Kirk from Brownwood, Tx.
About six years ago I was surely living an active and full life. I was teaching Sunday School and in charge of a Youth Program at our Church. I was involved in a Prayer Group. I was also working full time in Fredericksburg at a Garden Center and giving classes on Saturdays on organic gardening and native plants.
