One of my favorite hobbies is procrastinating, although I don’t get around to doing it as much as I used to. You might think I procrastinated by waiting until this week to write about Father’s Day, since it was Sunday, but I really didn’t. I just forgot about it. There’s a difference. Father’s Day is kind of a junior varsity holiday, anyway.

As usual, and I like the response, I received information about the London Hammer of which I was unaware other than general information. M. R. Cole, who was Nita’s P. T. from recent injuries, etc owns property above the Yates Crossing, has this to offer, for what it may be worth. Mark has a twin brother who lives in Glenrose and is acquainted with the Creation Scientist there named Carl Baugh, who has the Creation Museum, and does interesting experiments and displays the LONDON HAMMER.

Well, it seems that everyone’s interested in reptiles. Danny Conner brought his Reptile Adventures last Wednesday, and we were at standing room only! We’ve couldn’t have shoehorned another child into the Stribling Room. The reptiles were quite something and definitely worth coming to see. It took five daring kids to hold the giant python, and the snapping turtle weighed in at about 150 pounds (Danny held it)!

The weather continued to be a bit of an issue in getting a full field of players together for the 6/17 Scramble. Pop-up showers occurred all day long, and during the actual playing, some truly impressive clouds built up to our north. But on the positive side, we got to see a couple of gorgeous rainbows! Fourteen brave souls showed up to play, and they were divided into 3 teams.

With Summer in full swing the various activities around the City continue to keep us busy and working hard to keep on top of the challenges. The swimming pool is busy as always this time of year, and the lifeguards are doing a great job of keeping up with the crowds and all of the other chores it takes to keep the pool clean and open.

Indoor tanning salons are present across the country, especially here in Texas. These businesses may provide indoor tanning through tanning beds or tanning booths. Tanning beds and tanning booths use UV light in high intensity for short periods to make the skin tan. Often people feel like they are a safer alternative to spending time in the sun, but this is not so.

“HOUSTON……WE HAVE A LIFTOFF!!” Back when I was a young girl…..(many, many, many years ago), these words caused a stir all over the world. A phrase almost as earth-shattering is “MASON…WE HAVE AN EMERGENCE!” After high water, rain, and late emergences, our lady bats at The Eckert James River Bat Cave have decided to grace us with their presence.
