The Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library is sponsoring a blood drive to be held in the Stribling Room on Monday, April 21, from 2:00-6:00 P.M. This drive is an opportunity for people to give back to the community by giving the gift of life. About 25% of all blood is transfused to save the lives of cancer patients!

St. Joseph parishioners are preparing for their 9th Annual Springfest Fundraiser which serves the public an overflowing plate of delicious BBQ Chicken with all the trimmings. Sunday, April 27th, is the date and serving begins at 11 AM in St. Joseph’s Hall located on the church grounds. The price per plate remains at $10.

Now that spring is in full swing (if you ignore the cold fronts) Texas Songwriters in the Round is preparing the next showcase at Sandstone Cellars Winery in Mason Texas. These showcases are every third Thursday from 6-10 in front of the wine bar. This month the show is on April 17th featuring Steve Brooks, a favorite of TSR, since 1999, is not new to music and song.

Spring is in the air, and the time is here again for the annual spring Steady Steps fundraiser. Please join us Saturday, April 26th, at Ft. Mason Community Building for a delicious meal (donation only) catered by Willow Creek, followed by the traditional cake auction and silent auction, which always proves to be fun and exciting!  You may view and bid on the silent auction items starting at 5:00 p.m., and the meal will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Hilda United Methodist Church’s annual sunrise service will take place Easter morning at approximately 7 a.m. Special music by Matthew Gideon will round out the unforgettable drama of the Easter sunrise. This event is Hilda Church’s gift to our friends and families. Seating is not provided, so it is advisable to bring chairs or blankets. The Hill Country Memorial (HCM) Hospice announces its bereavement support group schedule for April through June. The Living with Loss support group meets weekly on Thursdays from April 17 through June 5. Interested individuals may attend the afternoon meeting at 2 p.m. or the evening meeting at 7 p.m., both in the Cancer Resource Center meeting room on the first floor of the Brune Building at 808 Reuben St.
