The Mason County Ministerial Alliance invites you to join us on Thursday, August 21st at 8:00 AM to pray for our children, their teachers, and the Mason ISD administration. We will hold this 15 minute time of prayer at the tennis courts behind the school. There will be prayer, singing, and a short devotional.

An even numbered year is upon us and the London Community will be sponsoring the London School Re Union, which now is a community affair, the last Saturday of September, which is September 27, with the doors opening at 9 AM with hot coffee and a sweet thing (LIKE ME) to munch on.

Lifelong Masonite, Jessie Walker, was diagnosed with a benign pituitary gland tumor in July 2014. Due to the size, location and nature of this tumor, multiple approaches are being used by the medical team. Jesse was hospitalized on July 22nd and has endured an emergency craniotomy that removed only 30-40% of the tumor....

The Mason ISD Education Foundation will be auctioning off their 50 yard line box seat. The silent auction will begin on Thursday, August 21st at the Meet the Teacher event in the school’s cafeteria at 5:30 p.m. The auction bid sheet will then be moved to the Mason Bank on Friday, August 22nd until Monday, August 25th.

The drawing for the 2015 Puncher home game box seat tickets will be held on Wednesday,September 3rd at 10:00 a.m. The drawing will be held at the Administration Office on the north side of the square (200 Ft. McKavitt St.). In order to be entered into the drawing, a check for $240 needs to be delivered to the Administrative office prior to the drawing date.

Friday, August 22nd, the Mason High School cheerleaders are requesting your attendance at a new event. They are hosting a pork loin dinner and auction. Dinner will be served from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Mason ISD cafeteria. Tickets are being pre-sold by the high school cheerleaders and can be purchased in the high school office or at the door.

On Friday, August 15, at 6:30 pm, the Hilda Community Club will host their annual ice cream social. The guest speaker at the event will be Steve Toone speaking about the Patriot Warrior Foundation. Steve is an active member of the The Patriot Warrior Foundation which is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization which provides morale boosting events for America’s wounded and injured Veterans and their families.

The Odeon Preservation Association (OPA) will host a free screening of Tommy Hancock: West Texas Muse Wednesday August 13 beginning at 6:30 at the Odeon Theater in Mason, Texas...A documentary about the Texas fiddler and songwriter Tommy Hancock. Tommy was originally based in Lubbock as the house band and owner of the famous Cotton Club. The Gillespie County Fair arrives August 21-24, 2014, at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds in Fredericksburg, Texas. This year’s celebration includes four big days of music, carnival, livestock shows, horse races, and queen pageant, along with food and drink, contests, and other festivities. The show kicks off Thursday with Moore’s Greater Shows Carnival.

It’s that time of year again! The Loyal Valley Volunteer Fire Department is gearing up for our 3rd Annual Gun and Crafts Show and this year we are raffling off over $6000.00 in guns. The drawings will be held during our gun show, the 3rd weekend of September at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds.
