Texas Country Music Hall of Famer Johnny Bush will have his annual Birthday at the Llano Country Opry on Saturday, February 13, at the Lantex Theater in Llano. The matinee show will begin at 2:30 PM and the evening show will start at 7:30 PM. Admission is $20.00 per person. Johnny Bush began his career as a member of Ray Price’s Cherokee Cowboys.

Wednesday, February 10 at 6:30, THE ODEON THEATER will be offering a free film about mature love as part of the ongoing community enrichment series of free documentary films. There is no charge for the film. The film THE AGE OF LOVE, shows us that love is a vital energy needed by all humans and the search for love knows know age.

The Quilting Class has begun at the Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library! The class is full with twelve participants. Carolyn Thomas(middle, back row) is the instructor, and she brought some beautifully crafted quilts that she has created. The class will be making an Underground Railroad Sampler quilt that tells the story of the railroad—each block represents something specific about the history.

Last May, the Artisan Quartet delighted the listening ears of many with a classical music presentation at the Odeon Theater. Building on that classical music success, the Odeon Preservation Association is pleased to announce the first annual Mason County Chamber Music Festival being held April 1-3, 2016. The Artisan Quartet will be the festival’s Artists-in-Residence.

This month our local Mason County Farm Bureau is going promote “Texas Food Connection Month”. “Texas Food Connection” month is mainly about connecting food with agriculture and connecting with our communities and promoting agriculture—is part of our culture and a big part of the Texas Farm Bureau. We will we be working with local businesses and media to promote “Texas Food Connection Month”.

The Fredericksburg Chorale will present its New Works Concert, The Song of Nature, on Saturday, February 6 at 3 PM at St. Joseph’s Halle, 212 W. San Antonio. Harpeth Rising, a Louisville Kentucky based trio, is set to take the stage at the Odeon Theater in Mason, Texas Saturday February 27, at 7:30 PM. The all-female group features original music and lyrics, three-part vocals and instrumentals of banjo and violin mixed with cello and foot percussion. Their music is an exciting mix of musical genres that include folk, rock, bluegrass, classical and roots music.

This is it! This Saturday, Feb. 6, the Mason County Youth Rally will be hosted at the Community Building located adjacent to the Puncher Dome. This is a massive undertaking of volunteers and the Ministerial Alliance to bring this youth event to fruition. A few more volunteers are needed to fill in the gaps: If you are a prayer warrior, a prayer room has been set up to help minister to the kids.

Tickets are now on sale for the Hill Country CattleWomen’s 3rd Annual Spring Round-Up. This event funds the scholarships we award, beef education and beef promotion.
