Our January meeting will be held on the 19th at 630 p.m. at the Post on Post Hill St. Topics will include the Mid winter convention in Austin at the Double Tree Hotel, 6505 I-35, on January the 29th thru 31st. The Legendary Chuck Wagon Gang will be performing at the Heart of Texas Events Center on Sunday, January 11, at 804 San Angelo Highway in Brady, Texas. The gospel concert will begin at 3:00 PM and admission is $10.00 per person with tickets available at the door or in advance at (325) 597-1895.

The Association will hold its annual meeting on Thursday, January 15, 2015. The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. At the annual meeting, members are allowed to elect new officers and directors of the association. Members attending also decide on the amount set for dues and bounties for the following year.

Carol Tucker will be teaching Computer Basics I at the Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library this month. The class is free and will be taught in two sessions: Tuesday, January 13, and Tuesday, January 20, at 6:00 P.M. in the library. The class is free, and class size is limited.

Country Music Superstar Johnny Rodriguez with special guest Dottsy will headline the Llano Country Opry on Saturday, January 10, at the Lantex Theater in downtown Llano. There will be two shows including an afternoon matinee at 2:30 pm and an evening performance at 7:30 pm. Admission is $20.00 per person and advance tickets are already on sale at the Llano Chamber of Commerce, Llano National Bank or Lively Computers and KNEL in Brady.

The City of Mason will be holding a City Election, Saturday, May 9, 2015. City positions up for election this year are: City Commissioner District 2 and City Commissioner District 4. Residents of the City of Mason who desire to place their name on the ballot for one of these positions may do so beginning Wednesday January 28, 2015 until Friday February 27, 2015.

Well, Mason County, the Big Hunt, as we call it, has finally arrived. This Friday around 11:30 somewhere around fifty wounded and paralyzed veterans from Houston, Ft. Hood, Brooke Army Medical Center, and the San Antonio VA and Paralyzed Veterans of America will descend upon our part of America for what they consider the greatest weekend of their year. Texas A&M AgriLife Extension of Mason, Menard, and San Saba Counties would like to announce the Multi-County Soil Testing and Hay Production Workshop, to be held on January 13, 2015. The workshop will be held in Mason at the Richard P. Eckert Civic Center, 1024 McKinley St. We will be handing out soil testing bags at the Mason County Extension office leading up to the event so that you can get your soil sent off on the day of the workshop.
