Current 6th through 11th grade students enrolled at Mason ISD considering trying out for cheerleader or Puncher Pete for the 2015-2016 school year will need to attend a mandatory meeting. The meeting will be held in the high school library on Wednesday, February 4th from 6:00 - 7:00. The Odeon theater in Mason will host a special Valentine day show featuring The Divas from San Angelo Saturday February 14 at 7:00 PM. Guest will be treated with Valentine chocolates and a bubbly beverage. But the special treat is the sweet sounds of the The Divas. Their harmonies are like candy for the ears. The word “diva” has been used to describe distinguished female singers such as Aretha Franklin, Barbara Streisand, Ella, and Celine.

Democrats from 19 West Texas counties will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday in the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, 1 Love St., to brainstorm about building the party and winning in 2016. Moderating the discussion will be Perry Flippin of San Angelo, committeeman for the 28th Senatorial District. The meeting is open to the public without charge.

February 3 will be a hot time for great basketball and tasty pancakes at the games in Mason. Be sure to hold onto your appetite until you get to the game where the Mason Lions Club will be sponsoring their annual pancake supper to raise funds for all the worthy Lions' projects.

The Mason Puncher Band will be hosting its 3rd annual Band Auction on Saturday January 31st. Once again it will be broadcast on KHLB 102.5 and be held at the band hall. It will run from approximately 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. You can call in with your bids or come bid in person.

Come join The Mason Puncher Club, and help us recognize the accomplishments of our 2014 Mason Punchers and Cowgirls in Cross Country and Football at the Fall Sports Banquet. The banquet will be held in the school cafeteria on Thursday January 22, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. A Bar-B-Que pork steak dinner with all of the trimmings will be provided.

The Mason Puncher Club will be hosting a Fall Sports Banquet to recognize the accomplishments of our Varsity Cross Country and Football teams. The banquet will be held in the school cafeteria on Thursday January 22, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. Please join us for a Bar-B-Que Pork Steak dinner with all of the trimmings, and help us celebrate the achievements of our Mason Punchers and Cowgirls.

This year the local Habitat for Humanity group is building two homes instead of one. This is an incredible event for our small community. There will be four Care-A-Van groups coming from all over the United States to help build these homes. For several years the community of Mason has helped to feed these groups a light lunch at least three times a week during their builds.
