Perhaps saving the best for last, the Odeon theater in Mason will screen its final documentary film of the season Wednesday, October 22 at 6:30 PM. Admission is free. Tomlinson Hill, an award winning film at the prestigious Dallas Film Festival, is the story of America, as seen through the microcosm of a small Texas town called Marlin.

The Union Band Cemetery Memorial Association will have their annual business meeting on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Pontotoc Community Center. Anyone interested is invited to attend.

Hannah’s Hope for a CURE will be hosting their 1st 5k fun run/walk on Saturday, October 25th at Fort Mason Park in Mason, TX. Registration will be $25 before the event and $30 the day of. There will also be a kid’s race ($10), a raffle which includes a SMART TV, YETI Cooler, a Kindle, and a Wal-Mart gift card, a Silent Auction, and food from Cooper’s Pit Bar-B-Q will be available for purchase.

The Comanche Creek Ladies’ Golf Association will hold their annual membership meeting on MONDAY, OCTOBER 20. There will be a 9-hole scramble beginning and 9:00 am. Again this year, we invite our former golfing ladies not participating in the scramble to join us for a putting contest immediately following the scramble.

Join us for an Evening in Paris at the 57th annual Mason High School Queen’s Coronation. Saturday, November 1, 7:30 P.M. at the Fort Mason Community Building. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $8 at The Commercial Bank, Mason Bank, Mason High School office, and Benjie’s. They may also be purchased at the door for $10. The Mason Stargazers will host Dr. Paul Derrick, author of A Beginner’s Guide to Learning the Night Sky, on Saturday, October 25, in the Stribling Room of the Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library. Dr. Derrick will give a two-hour program beginning at 4:00 P.M. and then will return to the library at 8:00 P.M.

Come to see the wool sacks and mohair sacks , burlap flowers with wool centers that will be used as center pieces for the Wool and Mohair Luncheon and Fashion Show at the YO Resort Hotel on Tuesday October 28, 2014. Funds are raised for Education/Scholarships for college bound students as well as students with 60 hours or above including graduate level.

River of Life Church will be holding their 8th Annual Fall Festival on Friday, October 31st from 5 - 8 p.m. There will be free food, a variety of fun games, Cake Walk, Giant Inflatable Slide, Bouncy Castle, Obstacle Course, Prize Booth and of course plenty of candy!
