Two of our Mason County citizens, Stanley and Carolyn Toeppich, both of whom were born and raised here, will celebrate 60 years of marriage on November 26, 2015.   To mark the occasion, their family held an anniversary barbecue for them on October 10th, hosted by their grandson Steven Toeppich and his wife Jayme at their ranch near Tarpley, Texas.

On December 31, 2015, Johnny & Mary Ann Jaquez celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. The surprise celebration took place on January 9, 2016, at the Peter's Prairie Schoolhouse in Camp Air, Texas. The decorations consisted of gold and green floral table arrangements along with picture settings of Johnny & Mary Ann, with green gold and white balloons. Kristin Jordan graduated December 18, 2015 from Texas A&M University. She is the daughter of Ken and Kynda Jordan of San Saba, Texas. A 2012 graduate of San Saba High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Leadership Education and Development, with an emphasis in Recreational Parks and Tourism Science.

KERRVILLE, Texas (December 9, 2015) - Amanda Ruiz of Mason graduated from Schreiner University in Kerrville and will be recognized at the December Commencement Services. Ms. Ruiz received a degree in Vocational Nursing. Schreiner University is an independent liberal arts university related by choice and by covenant to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

Proud big brother Hudson is excited to tell everyone about his sweet and happy little sister, Holland Grace Terrell. She was born on Thursday, June 11 weighing seven pounds, one ounce and was 19-1/2 inches long. The Mason High School class of 1946 held their class reunion on Saturday, October 24th in the back room of Nacho's Cafe. Due to the inclement weather, only seven members of the class were able to attend; but, they had a great time exchanging stories and catching up with one another.

Since the Texas Constitution was adopted in 1876, Texas voters have approved 483 amendments to the Constitution, making it one of the longest state constitutions in the country. On September 30th, Permian Frac Sand held a formal ribbon cutting during a reception held at Willow Creek Cafe. After the ribbon cutting, attendees enjoyed dining on some light refreshments and other treats while listening to the music of Aaron Kothmann. Permian Frac Sand is located in Voca; but, plans on working closely with the people of Mason County during the coming years.
