The Mason County Chamber of Commerce held their 1st Annual Stick Donkey Race during the 50th Annual Round-up Celebration. It was a huge success! Each child came ready to race with their very own “homemade” stick donkey. The winners for the 5 & 6 year old group were First Place – Thomas Fuller, Second Place - Maria Victoria Hinckley and Third Place - Solanus Hinckley.

SEARCY, AR (07/11/2014) - Mason resident Paden Hemphill, a senior at Harding University, is among more than 1,200 University students included on the dean’s list for grades achieved during the spring 2014 semester. The Lions Club District 2-A1 Has for it’s new District Governor; John Gammill of the Mason Lions Club, Gammill is the first Lion from the Mason Lions Club to serve as District Governor. Gammill will be Governor for the 2014-2015 Lions Year. District 2-A1 is an expansive West Texas district that stretches from Kingsland to Midland and Sweetwater to Junction.

This past weekend the Mason County Chamber of Commerce held their 1st Annual Softball Classic at the Ft. Mason Park baseball fields. The tournament was a huge success! There were a total of twelve teams entered into the tournament. After approximately 19 hours of games, The Recruits ended up with the 1st place prize.

Liberty Hill incoming senior, Jaycie Pluenneke and her teammates brought home the Bronze. As members of the 17 Cedar Park Austin Junior Volleyball team, they participated in the AAU Volleyball National Championships held in Orlando, Florida June 21-24. Mason High School class of 1989 celebrated their 25th class reunion at the home of Toby Gibbs. Seventeen classmates had a ‘totally awesome’ BBQ meal followed by dancing to some ‘radical’ 80’s music provided by DJ Pete! A collection was gathered by the class to donate to the memorial scholarship fund for Lee Graham, their beloved principal.
