Steve and Karen Toone are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter Megan Lyn Toone to Paul Austin Keller, son of Paul and Karen Keller of Austin, Texas. Megan graduated from Mason High School in 1997 and Texas Tech University with a Bachelors of Business Administration and Masters of Science in Accounting in 2001.

Noel Campos and Glenda Holman are proud to announce the newest addition to their family! Maxtyn Carter Campos was born on March 31st at 12:45 p.m. weighing in at 7.2 pounds. He is welcomed with loving little arms by his big brother Makai and big sister Teaghan. Proud grandparents are Danny and Mary Ellen Martinez of Mason and Jose and Jaunita Campos of McAllen.

Garrett Rice, of Mason, Texas, along with parents Paul and Suzy Rice, participated in the 176th commencement ceremonies at DePauw University, est. 1837, in Greencastle, Indiana on May 17th, 2015. Rice received a Bachelor of Liberal Arts Degree in Communications. He will continue his post graduate studies by attending Law School.

Mason's One Act Play took first place at the state competition last week, providing the second state championship in a row for the group. The directors are Merlina Gamel, Jacki Maenius and Tiffany Klaerner. Spencer Bierschwale received the Outstanding Technician award. Sara Powell and Jackson Taylor were both named to the All Star Cast.

LAWRENCE — The names of nearly 4,550 candidates for degree from the University of Kansas this spring — representing 87 Kansas counties, 46 other states and 43 other countries — have been announced by the University Registrar. Degrees are officially conferred in June. KU’s 143rd Commencement was Sunday, May 17. Commencement information is available at commencement.ku.edu.

The grand opening fiesta for Chica Chula Boutique and FindARanch.com was this past Saturday, May 16th, at 100 Ft. McKavitt Street on the square in Mason. There was a great turn out to welcome the new businesses, with a live mariachi band, margaritas, bloody mary's and a grand 'ol time!

It’s not often that new attorneys take their official oath in the Mason County Courthouse. However, that was the case last Thursday as 452nd Judicial District Judge Rob Hofmann administered the official oath swearing in one of Texas’ newest attorneys, Josh Leamons, who recently passed the Texas Bar.
