Margaret Lemke has been chosen as part of the ladies’ basketball squad to participate in the 14th annual Big Country Chevy Dealers Fellowship of Christian Athletes All Star Festival. Air Force Airman Andrew P. Willis graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. San Antonio –The calf scramble was held yesterday, February 13 at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. 4-H and FFA youth competed for $800 certificates to purchase breeding animals to exhibit in the 2014 San Antonio Junior Livestock Show. Twelve certificates were awarded this afternoon to those who caught a calf. One such winner was Kirsten Shaw of Mason, Texas.

Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Kent of Mason will be married sixty years on February 25, 2013. Tommy Kent and Frances Lyon were married in Eastland County. Their first home was in Kermit, Texas, where they resided before moving to Knox City, Texas, in 1960. In 1987, they moved to Mason, Texas. They have two daughters: Kathi Kent Turner and Kary Kent Tyler.

Traci is a 2001 graduate of Roscoe High School, and a 2005 graduate of Texas A&M University. Chris is a 1995 graduate of Mason High School, and is scheduled to graduate from the Golf Academy of America in December, 2013.

GEORGETOWN, TX (02/15/2013)— Jenny Smith of Mason has been named to the Dean’s List at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, for the fall 2012 semester. To be selected, students must have at least a 3.6 grade point average on a 4.0 scale with at least 12 graded hours and be in good standing with the university. Southwestern University is a selective, nationally recognized undergraduate liberal arts college with an enrollment of 1,350 students.

The HCM Board of Trustees has appointed HCM’s Chief Nursing Officer, Jayne E. Pope, MBA, RN, FACHE, as the new HCM Chief Executive Officer. Pope will officially replace Michael R. Williams, MD, on February 22, 2013 completing his resignation process. Williams took the role as President of The University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, after serving five years as HCM CEO.
