Melvin Thomas, of Brady, passed away on Sunday, March 22, at the age of 77. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife Charlene Thomas, of Brady, a son Kelly Thomas and wife Annette of Mason, a daughter Debby Gray and husband Larry of Yoakum, a granddaughter Rachel Nicole Brereton and husband Richard of Cedar Park and 9 nieces and nephews.

Marilyn Sue (Smith) Walker went home to Our Lord and Savior on March 19, 2015, after fighting a long battle with Liver Disease. Sue was the daughter of the late Jack Smith and late Eloise Hoerster, born in Mason, TX, on October 6, 1941. She was married to Stephen Walker on December 28, 1966, and had daughters Stephanie Hamilton, Donna Taylor and son John Walker.

Sue Beth Lewis Gipson, 67, of Kerrville passed away on March 11, 2015, at her residence. Sue was born February 25, 1948, in San Angelo, Texas, to Lucy Catherine Fisher Lewis and Roscoe Vernon Lewis. She grew up and lived on her grandparents’ land, King and Aurora Fisher, went to school in Junction, Texas, and graduated from high school in 1966.

Crescencia Castillo, of Mason, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, at the age of 71. Visitation was on Wednesday, from 7 to 9 and continued on Thursday, March 12 from 9 a.m. till 7 p.m. with a Rosary held at 7:00 in the Mason Funeral Chapel. Burial of her cremated remains will take place at a later date in the Crosby Cemetery. A.F. “Boog” Holloway passed away on Thursday, March 5, at the age of 84. “Boog” was born on September 27, 1930, near Pontotoc in Mason County to Noah Curtis Holloway and Verna Brady Holloway. Mason County would be his home all of his life. In 1948 he fell in love and married Joyce Koock and they were together for the next 67 years! “Boog” was co-owner of Mason Bottling Company and never completely retired.

Viletha Surber Cooper, born October 15, 1919, in Mason County, Texas, died Monday, February 9, 2015, in Fredericksburg, Texas.
