Alfred Lee Koerner, of Arlington, passed away on Sunday, October 11, at the age of 76. Mr. Koerner is survived by his wife Shirley Sue Koerner, of Arlington, four children: Eddie Koerner of Arlington, Rodney Koerner of Austin, Tammy Koerner Lucio, of Lubbock and Janna Koerner Settles of Combine along with 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Joe Kirk Smith of Brady was born on April 20, 1926, in Algerita, Texas, to Felix (Smitty) and Millie Smith. He passed away at home on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at the age of 89. Joe Kirk graduated from Brady High School in 1944. He married Billie Jean Burger, his wife of 71 years, on June 10, 1944, in San Saba, Texas.

The Lord Jesus took Evelyn Janette Spaulding peacefully in her sleep on September 29, 2015. She was born April 21, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas. On January 18, 1964, she married the love of her life Chester Spaulding, Jr., and they were married for 51 years. They had four children, Mark, Chester, Shana and Gordon, and 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild (Evelyn, Carter, Tabby, Zach, Madison, Jacob, Adriele, Alexa, Chase, Cote, Lalania and Asia).

Homer Joseph “Pat” Patterson, 72, of Kerrville, TX, passed away on September 26th in San Antonio, TX after a brief illness. He was born in Scotts Bluff, NE, to Greta Adeline Williams Patterson and Chester Virgil Patterson on September 21, 1943. FORT WORTH, TEXAS - Michael D. Polk, 62, of Fort Worth, TX, passed away after several years of physical difficulties. He was born November 5, 1952, in Odessa, TX, while his dad was there with an oil company. The family moved back to Fort Worth in 1957, where Michael lived for the rest of his life. He was in the construction business for a few years before getting into another field where he was the manager of an oil well supply company for many years.

Guadalupe C. Avalos, of Mason, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, at the age of 85. A Rosary was held on Friday evening, September 11, at 7:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. Visitation with the family was Thursday from noon to 5 and throughout the day on Friday. The funeral service was held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

Clinton Blackmon passed away on September 8, 2015, in San Angelo, Texas. He was born March 31, 1928, in William D. Blackmon and Robena Pool Blackmon. He is survived by Rosa Lange, Mason, Tx; Betty Blackmon, Austin, Tx; and, Doris Burke, Waco, Tx. He was preceded in death by sister Charlotte Clayton and brother Howard Blackmon of Mississippi. Clinton served in World War II in Germany.

Charlene Nash, 81 of Lampasas, Texas, died September 9, 2015, at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. Charlene was born June 11, 1934, in Mason, Texas, the daughter of Arthur William Eckert and Nettie Matilda (Hasse) Eckert. Charlene grew up in Mason. She attended a 1 room school house in Long Mountain, Texas and went on to graduate from high school in Mason.

Alan Ray Scott, age 64, of Llano, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at his residence in Llano. He was born July 28, 1951, in Austin to Jesse Herman “J.H.” Scott and Valeska Nora (Frederick) Scott. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Viet Nam Veteran. He was a lifelong resident of the central Texas area, moving to Llano in 1993 from the Austin area.

Medora Ann Ricks, 75, passed away peacefully, with her daughters Sandy and Lori by her side on August 31, 2015, in Austin, Texas. She was born March 19, 1940, to Fritz and Louise Hahn in Mason, Texas. Medora followed in her mother's footsteps and became an educator, teaching all ages of children until retirement.

Andrew Franklin Habecker, born as Andrew Richmond Peacock, was called home to heaven on August 25th, 2015 exactly 1 month before reaching the young age of 63. His final residence was Green Cove Springs, FL. His passing occurred under the care of Orange Park Medical Center while working through many health issues including a history of heart attack and stroke. Andy, as most knew him, was born on September 25th, 1952 to Annie Jean (Freeman) Habecker and Richmond Peacock.

Born in the lovely hill country of Texas on January 14, 1932, John grew up playing both football and piano with equal talent. His interrupted college years found him in the U.S. Air Force Singing Sergeants with whom he toured the world. Finishing college after the Air Force, he was hired by the San Angelo Symphony Orchestra and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, playing both keyboard and percussion.
