LeJeune Kirchhoff Leifeste was born on March 23, 1928, in Mason, Texas, the daughter of Earl and Muriel Leslie. Mrs. Larry Ahrens nee Martha “Janie” Jane Reeh of Fredericksburg passed away on Tuesday, January 27th at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 58 years. A funeral mass was celebrated Saturday, January 31st, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Jim Harnan and Deacon Ed Fergeson officiating.

Kegan Lee Schmidt of Llano and Mason, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, at the age of 23. A Memorial Service celebrating Kegan’s life was held on Tuesday, January 27, at 2:00 p.m. in the Mason Funeral Home Chapel. Marie Garner, of Mason, passed away in an Austin care facility on Thursday, January 8. Survivors include her daughter Elizabeth Cole Brodhead and husband Gene of Austin. A graveside service for her cremated remains will take place at a later date in Sterling City. A full obituary will follow in a later edition of the paper. He was born June 9, 1922, in Rochelle, Texas, to William Theodore Engdahl Sr. and Pattie Mae (Cole) Engdahl. He graduated from Rochelle High School in 1940. Patti M. Kothmann, of Mason, passed away on Monday, January 5, at the age of 73. Mrs. Kothmann is survived by her son Jeffrey Muse of Taylor and three grandchildren: Jocelyn Muse, Cecily Muse and Jacob Castillo. Patti was preceded in death by her husband Kelly Ross Kothmann in 2002. Patti was born in Houston, Texas, on November 17, 1941, to George Box and Dorothy Kirkland Box.

Joyce was born January 13, 1937, in Austin, Texas, and adopted by Emil and Lena (Hoffmann) Holtzer of Castell, Texas. She attended the Castell School until 5th grade when they were consolidated to the Llano Public School. She graduated from Llano High School in 1955. Joyce married William Theodore Otto Arlt of Fredericksburg, Texas, on November 5,1955.

Salvador John “Sam” Miciotto, of Mason, passed away on Saturday, December 20, at the age of 76. Sam is survived by Bob Peavy, Odell Brinkley and many other friends. No local services are planned. It was his wish to be cremated and burial of his cremated remains will take place at a later date in Shreveport, Louisiana. Sam was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on February 3, 1938, to John Miciotto and Ruby Sali Miciotto.
