Sandra Kay Fredrick, 61, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at her home. Ms. Frederick was born March 12, 1953, in Childress, Texas. She was retired from the Barry Telford Unit, New Boston, Texas, and a Christian. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Casey Martin of Texarkana; one stepdaughter, Lanisha Giddnes of Texarkana; one son, Bradley Frederick of Madisonville, Ky.; one stepson, Nicholas Pace Sr.

Crystle Keyser, of Mason, passed away on Sunday, April 13, at the age of 94. Mrs. Keyser is survived by her daughter, Priscilla Martin and husband Bill, of Mason, two grandchildren Kim Metcalf and husband Harvey of Center Point and Lori Allen and husband Skeet of Mason, three great-grandchildren; Kassie Potter and husband Luke, Garrett Allen and Kristen Allen and one great-great-grandchild Keagan Potter. Funeral services for Crystle Keyser will be held on Friday, April 18, at 11:00 a.m.

Charles Ray Gober, 79, of Tye, TX, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014 in an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born on April 22, 1935, in Comanche County, TX to parents James Fishel Gober and Minnie Odessal Jackson Gober. Charles Ray moved to the Abilene area in 1955 and worked 44 years in the Maintenance Department of the Abilene Independent School District.

Roberta McMillan, of Mason, passed away peacefully at her home in Mason on Sunday, April 6. She was 91. Roberta was born on March 22, 1923, in Childress, Texas, to John Simpson Owen and Marie Feige Owen. She was a 1940 graduate of Mason High School and attended Texas Tech for two years. In 1934, Roberta joined the Methodist Church in Turkey, Texas.

Charles Ezra Cook of Refugio, Texas passed on to be with the Lord on March 28, 2014 at the age of 69. He was born January 24, 1945 in the U.S. Naval Hospital in San Diego, California to Cliffa Gene Lange Cook and Ezra Glen Cook. Charlie married Zehra Lale Kuzu on July 12, 1972 in Istanbul, Turkey.

Henry David McCormick, 81, of Amarillo died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014. Combination memorial service for David McCormick (died Feb. 14, 2014), 81 years old; and Helen McCormick (died March 1, 2013), 78 years old. Both of them died in Amarillo, Tx where they had lived for two years. Previous to that they had lived in Mason since 1997.

Jim Underwood, rancher, teacher, friend, devoted husband, father and grandfather, died on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, near Lago Vista, Texas. He and his wife Cookie had temporarily moved to Lago Vista to be near their son while he battled ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. James Weldon Underwood was born at his family’s home in Grit, Mason County, Texas to John James Underwood and Irlene Elizabeth McWilliams Underwood on September 20th, 1938.
