The 2nd Annual Lee Graham Relays will be March 15th. Field events will begin at 10 a.m. and the running finals will begin at approximately 2 p.m.; or, 1 hour after field events are over. Anyone interested in working the meet can contact Coach Burns at 325.347.1122 ext 229. Hope to see you at the track.

If you didn’t get to go to the boys’ playoff game or listen to it on the radio (which by the way everyone said that Justin made it sound as if they were there) you should know that the players did an excellent job of representing Mason. The Punchers jumped out to an early lead shooting the ball extremely well and playing some great defense.

After winning the district title against tough opponents, Harper, Junction, and Nueces Canyon, the Area title against Thrall (46-40), the Regional Quarterfinals title against Junction (42-38), the Cowgirls earned a berth to the Regional Tournament held in New Braunfels. They played a hard-fought battle against the Weimer Lady Cats, tying up the game with two minutes left before falling short 57-50.

The 2014 golf season started out on slippery slopes. The first two dates were canceled due to icy weather conditions and the schools to the North/Northwest had to drop out. This made for a very small field. Joining us this year were Brackett and Christoval. Christoval captured first place for both boys and girls tournaments.

Mason has long been known for producing top tennisplayers. It is also known for hosting some of the best tournaments in the state. This year will be no exception. Last weekend, Mason hosted the Puncher Shootout Tournament. This was an eight team tournament that guaranteed each player four matches. Teams that played this week in order of the way they finished were Abilene High, Fredericksburg, Kerrville, Marble Falls, Midland Christian, San Angelo Central tied with Mason, and Junction. Mason Youth Baseball has made the change to Mason Youth Baseball Little League® for the 2014 season! There are lots of new changes on the horizon for us! Mason hasn’t been involved in the Little League® Organization since 2002. The move to Little League® was made for many reasons, but, as with all decisions our board makes, the ultimate deciding factor was for our children.

This Friday will begin the first of three weeks of high school tennis matches to be hosted by Mason. The Puncher Shootout will again attract a solid field of tennis teams. The tournament will guarantee each player four quality matches. This year the schools that will be participating will be Abilene High, Fredericksburg, Junction, Kerrville, Marble Falls, Midland Christian, San Angelo Central, and Mason.
